Personal
Information
Mr.
Qureshi carries over 45 years of rich experience in
public, semi public/autonomous, private and social
sector services.
Born in Sukkur, got Master's degree in economics
from Sindh University in 1965, Had post graduate studies
at Glasgow University, UK in Development Economics
(1971-72) and fellowship from Economics Development
Institute (EDI), World Bank, Washington in 1977.
Experience
Ø
Joined
Public Service in West Pakistan Planning &
Development Department, Lahore in 1966.
Thereafter, served with government of Sindh as
Chief Economist/Secretary Planning Development
Department in 80s and, later as Additional Chief
Secretary (1989 – 94).
Ø
Served
Government of Pakistan as Chief Economist. EAD 1975),
Joint Chief Economist, Planning & Development
Division (1989). CEO, Federal Bank for Co-operatives
(1995), Chairman, National Tariff Commission and, from
1995-2000 as Federal Secretary Planning &
Development (twice) and Statistics Division (twice).
Ø
After
attaining the age of superannuation, worked for NEPRA
from year 2000 to 2005 as Member (Sindh) and Vice
Chairman.
Ø
Remained
on board of Directors of CAA, KESC, NHA, PTCL and
Ex-officio member WAPDA.
Ø
Presently
serving Social Sector/Civil Society in capacity of
member Board NRSP, SRSO, NRSP Macro Finance Bank and
Sindh Graduate Association (CEC).
