SUB: Quotation of premium for Group Life Insurance
Coverage to Pakistan Steel employees, Period: 01-04-2010 to 31-03-2011.

Pakistan Steel intends to invite competitive premium rates regarding Group Life Insurance coverage for its regular workers, daily wage workers and loanee employees, separately on annual basis, effective from 01-04-2010

2. The details of coverage and sum assured is given below :-


i) Regular Workers.
a) Sum Assured : Rs.2,00,000/-
b) Number of Regular Workers: 5973 approximately
c) Coverage : 24 hours coverage against
Natural/accidental death (including Terrorism) PTD, PPD & TTD, (Accident).
ii) Daily Wage Workers.
a) Sum Assured : Rs.2,00,000/-
b) No. of Daily Wage Workers : 3293 Approximately
c) Coverage : 24 hours coverage against
Natural /Accidental death (including Terrorism)PTD,PPD&TTD (Accident).
iii) Loanee Employees.
a) Sum Assured : Different
b) No. of Loanee Employees : 714 Approximately
c) Coverage : 24 hours coverage against death
due to any cause.

3. All the interested life insurance companies are hereby invited to offer their premium rates separately towards above said three policies in sealed envelop latest by 24th March, 2010.

4. The following technical details may also be sent in separate envelope on above mentioned date.

i) Profile of respective Insurance Company.
ii) Certificate from Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (Insurance Division).
iii) Annual Audited report of the company certified by the Chartered Accountant for previous financial year.
iv) Details of capabilities of professional personal of the company.
v) Financial position supported with the name of the Banks and yearly turnover with balance sheet.
vi) Relevant experience and Past Performance.
vii) Claim payment procedure.
viii) Affidavit indicating none of dispute with clients regarding payment of claims.
ix) Name of minimum five major clients.
x) Last year claim history.

5. Single stage two sealed envelops should be provided clearly mentioning on the face of envelop with technical details and financial offers.

6. Tender must be submitted in accordance with tender condition and must be delivered to Incharge (Insurance), Pakistan Steel, Barrack No.4, Bin Qasim, Karachi, at or before 11.00 hours on above mentioned date. Only technical details will be opened by tender opening committee at 11.30 hours on the same date/day mentioned above in the presence of representative of respective participant (who choose to attend). Financial offer of successful technically qualified parties will be opened by the committee under intimation before opening.

7. The financial offers and technical details to be received after the above deadline shall not be entertained and would be returned un-opened. Telegraphic/telex/fax bids shall not be accepted. The detail of tender is also available at the following web-site.

8. The succeed bidder will hereto deposit Performance Bank Guarantee of ten percent (10%) of total annual premium (from ‘A’ rated bank) refundable on expiry of contract/policies.

9. Pakistan Steel reserves the rights to accept/reject any one or all the offers as per PPRA rules.

Subject: - Extension in the date of submission of quotation and technical details and tender opening for Group Life Insurance Coverage to Regular Workers, Daily Wage Workers and Loanee Employees of Pakistan Steel period 1-4-2010 to 31-3-2011.

With reference to our tender published on 9-3-2010 in English, Urdu News papers (Daily Dawn and Daily Express) and also on Website of Pakistan Steel and PPRA in respect of subject Insurance Coverage.

The above tender was due to submit on 24-3-2010, at 11.00 A.M. and was opened on the same day at 11.30 A.M. but on account of grievance from some Life Insurance Companies to our Management, it has been decided to extend the date of submission of quotation and technical details for one week. Now the quotations and technical details will be received upto 1-4-2010 at 11.00 A.M. The technical details will be opened on same day at 11.30 A.M. in the office of Incharge Insurance Barrack No.4, Bin Qasim Karachi. The other contents of the tender published on 9-3-2010 would remain unchanged. This is for your information please.

                Pakistan Steel intends to invite competitive premium rates from the Registered and reputable Life Insurance Companies for provision of Group Life Insurance Coverage to its 5916 (approx.) Management and Executives on annual basis effective from 01-07-2010.

2.                   The detail of sum Insured and coverage are given below:-

24 hours Coverage are required against natural/accidental death, all kind of accidental injuries such as permanent, partial and temporary disablement including occupational hazards and terrorism.

3.             The interested Life Insurance Companies are hereby invited to offer their premium rates in sealed envelop latest by 01-07-2010.

4.             The following technical details may also be sent in separate envelop on above mentioned date.

           i)            Profile of respective Insurance Company.

         ii)            Certificate from Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (Insurance Division).

6.             The Tender must be submitted to Incharge (Insurance), Barrack No.4, Pakistan Steel, Bin Qasim, Karachi in accordance with condition of tender on or before 11.30 Hours, on above mentioned date. Only technical details will be opened by tender opening committee at 12.00 hours on the same date/day mentioned to above in the presence of representative of respective participants (who choose to attend). Financial offer of technically qualified parties will be opened by the committee under intimation before them.
